Modi takes aim at Akhilesh's alliance with New Bua - Mamata Banerjee
Authorities in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district said on Thursday they had arrested a man after a video on social media showed locals allegedly obtaining “forbidden meat” from his possession. In the video, a man who identifies himself as Sahabuddin is seen with his hands tied to a tree, talking about his bull “which was sick”.
“I slept and, in the morning, I found out that my father was not at home… The bull was killed,” says the man. Requests for comment from Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Singh did not elicit a response.
In a statement shared on Twitter, Singh said the incident took place in Bhurkunda Bari area of Kaliasol block under Nirsa police station in Dhanbad district. “The details in the video being shared are not factual, are exaggerated and may disturb the harmony of the community in the place,” the statement said.
“The regional administration was informed about the presence of 'forbidden meat'. By the time the police and administration reached the spot, the locals (Bhurkunda Bari) surrounded and stopped the youths whose video is coming on social media,” the statement added.
